Personal Mail International, Inc. was the idea of an entrepreneurial women’s ability to spot a need in the expatriate, travelers, and small business market for mail package and prescription shipments. While working in human resources of a fortune 500 multinational company Ruth Sayward envisioned the expatriate mail forwarding service as an adjunct to the human resource function. PMI's name and reputation have become synonymous for quality, service, and personal attention which continue to drive the company to distinguish itself from all others.
Founded in 1987 in Mendham, New Jersey, PMI is a woman-owned, woman-run company which began as a part-time venture, providing corporate and individual clients a way to assure that mail would be carefully, confidentially, securely and promptly forwarded to expatriates and their families. PMI began with just a handful of customers; over the years PMI has provided white glove service for thousands of clients and their families.
